Jesus and Satan were having an on-going argument about who was better on the
computer. They had been going at it for days, and frankly God was tired of
hearing all the bickering.

Finally fed up, God said, ‘THAT’S IT! I have had enough. I am going to set
up a test that will run for two hours, and from those results, I will judge
who does the better job.’

So Satan and Jesus sat down at the keyboards and typed away.

They moused.

They faxed.

They e-mailed.

They e-mailed with attachments.

They downloaded.

They did spreadsheets!

They wrote reports.

They created labels and cards.

They created charts and graphs.

They did some genealogy reports.

They did every job known to man.

Jesus worked with heavenly efficiency and Satan was faster than hell.

Then, ten minutes before their time was up, lightning suddenly flashed
across the sky, thunder rolled, rain poured, and, of course, the power went
off.

Satan stared at his blank screen and screamed every curse word known in the
underworld.

Jesus just sighed.

Finally the electricity came back on, and each of them restarted their
computers. Satan started searching frantically, screaming:
‘It’s gone! It’s all GONE! ‘I lost everything when the power went out!’

Meanwhile, Jesus quietly started printing out all of his files from the past
two hours of work.

Satan observed this and became irate.

‘Wait!’ he screamed. ‘That’s not fair! He cheated! How come he has all his
work and I don’t have any?’

God just shrugged and said,

I have been thinking about a lot

This year I have been trying to do something different. I have been working on coming to a place were I don’t just say something before I think of it. I’m trying to stay OPEN. So as I have been working on staying open to the thoughts of others. I will be also staying open to the voice of God.

Wait let me try to put this in words that make sense to you and me. Last year I tried to hear the voice of God. I don’t know when I started this but it had to have been some time when Father at church was talking about being open to the Holy Spirit. Well later that summer I can say that I had a feeling of something coming over me at church. I know it was at one of the low times of the summer. It was during the time when the trial was or the time when I know that something was not right with the doctor that hurt me. Yet, I was very much trying to stay open to the Holy Spirit and at the lowest of low days I felt like God was telling me “it’s ok my child. You are hurting today and I will be hear with you as you try and hold on to what you know is true.” Yes I know that it is somthing that I should not be talking about openly but I think you will get it.

The last thing is to stay open to people that I don’t like or understand. This is more to the work coach, In the past few months she has been trying to get me to think of other ways of looking at my money or job. I have been very much I don’t want to hear what you have to say so I’m just going to say NO. Well then when I would talk to other people they would say to me the same things that she was saying and I would go and do what they said and I would find that it was a better thing. It could be just about anything that she would say and then when some one other then her would say the same thing but in a diffrent way it would be this big and great thing.

So, To be open to God and his word is something that I am going to do with the work coach. I feel like God sent the Holy Spirit to say yes I am here but you need to hear me in your everyday life. You need to be willing to be open to hear me in places you don’t think I will be. So to be Open this year is what I’m going to try and do.

I’m glad I got out today

Today was a day that I was not looking at as a day that I really wanted to get out in. However, one of my friends had asked if I would like to get coffee with her. At first I told her no I was not going to be able to get out of the house. I forgot the boy friend was going out with some of his friends and it was good for him. So I called my friend back and told her that yes I could get out today. Well to put it in a little better way I’m glad I got out because Sunday is going to be a bit harder to get out and about. I’m happy to say that even though it was hard on the body with the cold I did it and I’m glad I did it. So now I need to get off this thing and go to bed after stretching my back.

I can say that the cold is winning out on my body. I’m just not one to be in the cold. I am a person that can do some cold but not like MN cold. So I ask myself “why do I live here again?”

Well like I said I should be getting going and off to bed. I thought I would drop a note to say that today was a good day to get out.

I am find out that some people change, just like myself. I have had to end a friendship that was a good one, then the next day it would be bad. My friend said to me that she did not like what has been going on. Well this person was not a really good friend. If anything it was a person that I know in College. My life has changed so much from when I was in college. I was a whole different person back then. Yet as that door was going to be closing a new door was opening with a new friend. I think that this new person that I have talked to a few times is a much healthier friendship. So lets all hope that this one will be a better one. And you know if it is not I know that another one will be opening soon.

I loved this and I hope you all do also. I have to say that I got it as an e-mail.

On the first day, God created the dog and said, “Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years.”

The dog said, “That’s a long time to be barking.. How about only ten years and I’ll give you back the other ten?”

So God agreed……

On the second day, God created the monkey and said, “Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I’ll give you a twenty-year life span.”

The monkey said, “Monkey tricks for twenty years? That’s a pretty long time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the dog did?”

And God agreed……

On the third day, God created the cow and said, “You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer’s family. For this, I will give you a life span of sixty years.”

The cow said, “That’s kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. How about twenty and I’ll give back the other forty?”

And God agreed again……

On the fourth day, God created humans and said, “Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I’ll give you twenty years.”

But the human said, “Only twenty years? Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?”

“Okay,” said God. “You asked for it.”

So that is why for our first twenty years, we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves. For the next forty years, we slave in the sun to support our family.. For the next ten years, we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren. And for the last ten years, we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.

Life has now been explained to you.
